Paul Heaton is an English indie-pop and alt-rock singer-songwriter hailing from Bromborough, Merseyside. Born in 1962, hes best known as the frontman of The Housemartins and later The Beautiful South, which he formed out of the ashes of his former band.
Originally growing up as a football-loving lad - even bringing out his hooligan side during his earlier gigs, baiting crowds by mocking their teams - he would eventually move his passion into music, and performed solo gigs and in small-time bands before forming The Housemartins.
Later, following that bands dissolvement, he would start The Beautiful South, which featured Jacqui Abbott - who Heaton, after hearing her sing outside a club, immediately signed up to join him the group back in the 90s.
Having enjoyed a number of successful years in the Beautiful South - including the albums 'Miaow', 'Blue Is The Colour' and 'Quench' - Paul Heaton would embark on a solo career, releasing a handful of not-so-well received records through the 00s.
However, years later, Heaton would again team up with Jacqui Abbott for a UK tour and new album, 'What Have We Become'. During the tour the pair performed new material, Beautiful South classics, and also songs from Heaton's days as frontman of the Housemartins, and proved to be a hit.
Following their winter escapade, Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott return for a trio of massive, outdoor shows under the summer sun in 2015. Check below to find tickets!
