Snow Patrol are a Northern Irish/Scottish indie-rock outfit that formed in 1994. They found mainstream success with the release of their third album ’Final Straw’ in 2003, and haven’t looked back.
The six-strong outfit have since dominated the UK indie-rock scene, taking their music into power-pop territory, and they’ve picked up numerous Meteor Ireland Music Awards and have earned a handful of BRIT Awards along their lengthy career.
Since the release of their ’Final Straw’ album, Snow Patrol have sold over 10 million albums across the world, earning their first #1 with 2006’s ‘Eyes Open’. They released their sixth studio album ‘Fallen Empires’ in November 2011, followed by a Greatest Hits album 2013.
Snow Patrol's latest album, 'Wildness', was released in May 2018. To accompany the record's release, they played a batch of UK and Ireland shows in spring, with a string of European festival dates in the summer lined up, Australia shows after that, then back to the UK and Europe in the winter. Snow Patrol have always polarised opinions. To some, they’re sensitive new age guys who craft heart-on-sleeve indie-pop anthems. To others, their music is over-earnest, bland and edgeless. After seven years away, their comeback album, ‘Wildness’, is unlikely to change either of those viewpoints.
