Snow Patrol And Kylie Minogue Release New Single These Alarms

Snow Patrol and Kylie Minogue have collaborated for a new single called These Alarms.
Serving up an atmospheric and restrained blend of indie-rock and pop, the track was originally written for the pop superstar during sessions for the band's 2024 album 'The Forest Is The Path', before being set aside under the working title Kylie. Rather than include it on the record, the band chose to wait and complete it with her. Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody said:
"As a huge Kylie fan I originally wrote 'These Alarms' with her in mind. When we finished the song we quickly realised something huge was missing from it. We all knew it was Kylie's voice that was the missing piece... From the minute she recorded her vocals we knew it needed to have a life on its own."
Kylie added: "The story behind this song was irresistible... Hearing there was a demo called 'Kylie' that had been living in the Snow Patrol archives was a complete surprise and, naturally, I was curious to hear it. Gary is such a brilliant songwriter, so to be invited into the band's world is a total honour."
The BRIT and Grammy-nominated Northern Ireland band will continue their run of summer dates with a performance at London's Crystal Palace Park this Friday (July 3), joined by Rag'n'Bone Man, Amy Macdonald, The Amazons and Nieve Ella. They'll also play the Live at Ludlow Castle series, Edinburgh's Castle Esplanade, and headline Nottingham's Splendour Festival later this month.
They released an extended edition of 'The Forest Is The Path' last year and will put out a 20th anniversary reissue of their fourth album 'Eyes Open' on July 24.
Kylie, meanwhile, dropped her latest studio album, 'Tension', and a remix edition in 2023, followed by the sequel 'Tension II' in 2024. Last year, she released 'Tension Tour//Live 2025' concert film and album, and reissued her 'Kylie Christmas' record.
