Lizzo has laid out plans for her new studio album.

The follow-up to 2022's 'Special' is titled 'Bitch' and will arrive on June 5. Comprising 12 songs, it'll include the four-time Grammy-winner's recent single Don’t Make Me Love U along with the title track, which interpolates Meredith Brooks' hit 1997 single of the same name, due out with an accompanying video this Friday (May 1). Commenting on the inspiration behind the album's title, Lizzo explained:

"Reclaiming the word Bitch is power - it’s taking a label once used to diminish women and turning it into a declaration of confidence, and unapologetic self-love.

"So many incredible women in music have used the word for positivity like Meredith Brooks and Missy Elliot. It was only fitting to name my album Bitch because it has become my favorite word when using it on my own terms and because I am 100% that bitch!”

Since her most recent album, Lizzo also put out the mixtape 'My Face Hurts From Smiling' last June, followed by its deluxe edition, 'My Face Still Hurts From Smiling', in September, featuring collaborations with SZA, Lil Jon, Tierra Whack and Doja Cat.

Her first children’s book, Lil Lizzo Meets Sasha B. Flootin’, which follows a girl who befriends a flute, will arrive on September 8.

Having recently wrapped up a series of sold-out shows at Blue Note Jazz Club in Los Angeles and New York, Lizzo will perform a music set and comedy set at the Netflix Is a Joke Fest at Los Angeles' Greek Theatre on May 7. She'll also partner with the National Symphony Orchestra for a symphonic reimagining of her biggest hits at the Wolf Trap Filene Center in Vienna, Virginia on July 7. Tickets are on sale now.
