Icona Pop have laid out plans for their fourth album.

The follow-up to 2023's 'Club Romantech' is titled 'Ritual' and will arrive on August 14 via Ultra/Iconic Sound. It's said to show the Swedish electro-pop duo, Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, at their most honest and vulnerable. They said:

"Healing requires you to slow down and reflect, but you can’t work on yourself 24/7 forever. Eventually, you have to get back out into the world and see what happens. You might mess up – but that could be exactly what you need. For us, the dance floor has always been a place where we find ourselves and each other again. It’s where we can disappear into the music and let go of everything else."

The pair released the album's lead single and title track featuring Grammy-winning Daya last month, and have followed it with another preview in the form of the propulsive, club-ready Dance to This, produced by Sebastian Furrer, which comes with a video directed by Gustav Stegfors. The full tracklist for the album remains under wraps.

"The production definitely reminds me of old Icona Pop. We could perform it live, but we could also put it in a DJ set,” Jawo said of the track. Hejat added, "It’s one of those nights when you’re finding yourself by going out… it’s the moment you see yourself dancing and connected to your essence."

Icona Pop were due to support Meghan Trainor on The Get In Girl Tour across North America this summer, but the singer cancelled the dates earlier this month, saying that she needed time to focus on her family and their newborn, amid the release of her new album, 'Toy With Me', which dropped last week (April 24).
