The Nightingales are post-punk band from Birmingham.
Born from the ashes of punk group The Prefects, the band formed in 1979 and released their self-titled debut EP three years later. Since then, they have expanded their discography to include eight EPs, 12 albums and a handful of standalone singles and live records, have toured with The Clash and played Glastonbury Festival. In 2021, a feature-length documentary was premiered in the shape of King Rocker, which detailed the life and career of the band. This was accompanied by an album of the same name in 2022.
