System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian has shared a new solo single.

Arriving via Gibson Records, A.F. Day stands for Another Fucking Day and borrows tropes from punk and death metal in, "a reflection of the angst and anti-authoritarian attitude I had to conformity," according to Tankian.

It'll appear on the singer-songwriter, poet, artist, producer and activist's upcoming 'Foundations' EP, due out in the autumn. Teasing the song in late April, he commented:

"This is a song I wrote in the early days of System Of A Down that I never released. The majority of the instrumentation and vocals are recordings from that time."

The track arrives alongside the publication of his debut memoir, Down With The System, via Hachette Books today (May 17).

The Grammy Award-winning System Of A Down, meanwhile, headlined Las Vegas festival Sick New World last month. They'll also play a co-headline show with Deftones at San Francisco's Golden Gate Park on August 17.
