Forming in 1974 American rockers Blondie released a string of hits throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Instigators of New York's new wave punk scene Blondie toured and performed all over the world before breaking-up in the late 1980s after tensions in the group became too much. Debbie Harry forged a successful solo career and released the hit single 'I Want That Man' in 1989 before Blondie reformed in 1999 and returned to the charts with the #1 hit single 'Maria'.

The band put out their eighth studio album in 2003 hitting #36 in the UK Albums chart. A few years later in 2006 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame having sold over 40 million albums worldwide - a commendable feat for any modern band. After a couple of inactive years the band released their ninth record ‘Panic of Girls’ in 2011 and continue to write and record singles today.
