Cap’n Jazz is an American emo band from Chicago, Illinois, featuring brothers Tim and Mike Kinsella, Davey Von Bohlen, Sam Zurick and Victor Villarreal.
Formed in 1989, the band released several singles and contributed to compilations, before releasing their debut album, commonly referred to as, ‘Shmap'n Shmazz’, in 1994. The band split in 1995, after which Jade Tree Records released a compilation, ‘ Analphabetapolothology’, in 1998. The band reunited in 2010 for live shows.
