X-Factor judge Gary Barlow has revealed that ‘Angels’ singer Robbie Williams has temporarily taken a break from Take That to focus once again on his solo career.
The iconic British pop group had made an emotional and long-awaited return to the music scene when their original line-up of Gary, Robbie, Howard, Jason and Mark reunited in 2010 to release their new album ‘Progress’. Following the hugely successful new LP release, as well as an equally successful ‘Progressed’ E.P., the band embarked on one of the worlds biggest and highest grossing tours of the year – which saw them sell-out Wembley Stadium eight consecutive nights in a row.
While Gary Barlow works as a judge on the current series of UK talent show The X Factor, Take That are taking a break. Williams in the meantime is back to work on his solo career – which will see Robbie releasing a new record in the not-too-distant future.
“We’re all happy,” said Barlow. “The fans have come along and been happy. Great, great, great, great, great. Now Rob’s doing a solo record, and from this point it’s back to where it was.
“It ended perfectly. And you know what, we can revisit it whenever we want. He’s our brother, Rob is, and if he’s ever in trouble or he wants to have a year off being Robbie Williams, he’s welcome any time he wants.”
