Deaf Club have announced details of their debut single, a double-A-side affair featuring the tracks ‘Sunday’ and ‘Mirrors’ that will be released via the band’s own White On White label on 20th February.
The single follows a great 2011 for the young British band. The year saw the five-piece complete their first tour of the UK, and release their debut EP, ‘Lull’, to a great critical reception.
BBC Radio 1’s Jen Long told NME, “I have been falling in love with Deaf Club,” and soon invited them to record a session for her 'Introducing in Wales' show. Of the track ‘Hana’, which opens ‘Lull’, BBC and Amazing Radio DJ Bethan Elfyn said: “It’s fantastic… it’s just an amazing track.”
The band is set to build upon this groundswell of support in 2012. They play a selection of live dates in January, ahead of the release of ‘Sunday’ / ‘Mirrors’, and will follow-up this single with another in the spring, as well as further live activity.
On the day of the new single’s release, the ‘Lull’ EP will no longer be available for free download from the Deaf Club Bandcamp page. So get it now or miss out: www.deafclub.bandcamp.com.
A special, limited-edition cassette-only release featuring ‘Sunday’, ‘Mirrors’ and the four tracks from ‘Lull’ – ‘Hana’, ‘It, She’, ‘Forest/Shore’ and ‘Postcard’ – will be available in the spring via the Kissability label.
