The on-going rumours of an original Sugababes reunion have been given a fresh spin as it emerged that the trio of pop singers have recorded a song with BRIT Awards Critic’s Choice-winning singer Emeli Sandé.
The track, which was produced by Naughty Boy, was written by Sandé and is reportedly titled ‘Love Like This’. The lyrics have been described as very Sugababes-esque, and feature lines like: “Won't hold my breath again / I still remember when I gave you my heart and it turned out irrelevant / Back on the medicine, back in the thick of it / it's here in the room but we don't talk about the elephant.”
Despite a number of claims and rumours that Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy and returned to the studio to work with each other, Buena has been denying the claims, and said that the three would not be working on any new material together. But now, a ‘source’ has told the Daily Mirror that ‘they’ve recorded more tracks’ and ‘it’s working well.’
“The song is about not being used to being loved because you have been hurt so many times before,” the source told the tabloid paper, “and that you think you have been loved before but in reality you haven't. The girls are very much back to their soulful roots but this time around it's far more innovative.
“They've recorded more tracks too - and they're working hard to get a body of new work. Siobhan has left her job in the City and they are concentrating on getting material together for an album. They are very dedicated and it's working well.”
What do you think of the reports – will they be getting back together? Or is the news just more speculation? Let us know your opinion in the comment section below.
