X-Factor pop group One Direction may have a young fan-base and an innocent reputation to maintain, but Niall Horan has no problem ‘bantering’ with some of their demanding devotees - and even called one group of girls a ‘shower of cunts’ at Dublin Airport earlier this week!
Horan seemed a little tired of being hounded by fans when boarding a plane at the airport, and when one group of girls - one of whom was celebrating their birthday - tried to stop and speak to him, he ended up turning the air blue. And, of course, it was all caught on video.
The clip starts with a very vocal Horan walking towards the gate, telling the girls: “Do you remember the last time I walked down here, do you? Remember the last time I walked down here? You shower of cunts!”
Unphased and still infatuated by the star, the girls beg him to wish them happy birthday, which the 1D star (kind of) agrees to.
“Happy birthday to Chelsea... football club,” he joked. “Established 1856.”
Though the girls insisted on their YouTube video that the exchange was simply banter, Horan has since apologised for his use of the ‘C’ word, saying: “Really sorry if I caused any offence. It was just banter with fans who I think of more as mates. But I understand that it's not a word I should be using at all.”
