Simian Mobile Disco To Release New Live Album In April

Electronic music duo Simian Mobile Disco have announced that they’ll be releasing a brand new live album called ‘Live’ on April 15th.

Simian Mobile Disco - aka James Ford and Jas Shaw - have always had an envious ability to transform their sound while staying firmly at the forefront of contemporary music. Their earliest explorations were in an inimitable strain of indie dance that resulted in the now infamous ‘Attack Decay Sustain Release’, and since then they’ve come a long way, fine-tuning and tweaking their sound into what it is today.

This diverse musical excursion has led us to ‘Live’, an album recorded whilst on tour last year during a performance in Philadelphia in one take, with no edits. With a background of feverish techno rhythms and bounce as well as some vintage analogue electronics, ‘Live’ perfectly displays the brilliance of SMD, and is being released on their own Delicacies label,. Fittingly this is their first record distributed through the seminal German electronic label Kompakt.

In addition, this February Simian Mobile Disco will begin a five-date tour of Europe to warm up for summer festivals worldwide. Be sure to catch them live in London on February 22nd to witness the ‘Live’ experience, which sees them performing at a curated “Delicatessen” warehouse party in Factory 7, Shoreditch - follow the link below to find tickets. You’ll also find the ‘Live’ tracklisting.
