The Rolling Stones To Announce US Tour On Wednesday, According To Reports

English rock icons The Rolling Stones will announce a US tour on Wednesday, according to reports in Rolling Stone - sparking hopes that UK dates will be unveiled soon too.

The band exploded back onto the live music scene last year, performing a series of massive - and extremely expensive - gigs in the UK and US. After being confirmed for Glastonbury Festival last week, the band are now expected to announce a US tour - and there’s also strong rumours that they’ll be performing some more UK gigs this year too.

Mick Jagger and co. are expected to make a ‘big announcement’ on Wednesday according to Rolling Stone Magazine, and after their logo - along with track title taglines such as ‘Start Me Up’ and ‘Wild Wild Horses’ - started appearing on billboards across the US, it seems more than likely that a tour announcement is on the way later this week. #StartMeUpWednesday has also been trending across Twitter, as well as popping up on other social networks such as Facebook, meaning the tour is all but confirmed.

These new reports come following our recent story on rumours about the group headlining Glastonbury and performing two Hyde Park gigs this summer - the speculation about Glastonbury turned out to be correct, and fans are now hoping that the talk of gigs in Hyde Park is too.

The rumours claim that ‘likely dates are July 6th and July 13th. (I guess it will take one week to clean up between shows)’, and that AEG Live are the promoters behind them.

Interestingly, the source also agrees that a US tour is on the way, stating that ‘the tour is supposed to start on the West Coast, maybe in Vancouver’, and that the promotion behind these new shows will come from Australian Paul Dainty and Richard Branson's new venture Virgin Live.

All in all, 2013 looks set to be an extremely exciting one for fans of The Rolling Stones. Will you be attending one of their shows? Let us know in the comment section below.
