Dave Grohl 'Working Overtime' On New Foo Fighters Record

Tuesday, 25 June 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Dave Grohl - frontman of American rock titans Foo Fighters - is ‘working overtime’ putting together the band’s next album, according to drummer Taylor Hawkins.

We reported earlier in the year that the band had begun work on what would be the follow-up to 2011’s ‘Wasting Light’ - which topped both the UK and US Album charts and earned the band a whole load of awards and accolades. Hawkins has now revealed that Grohl’s at it once again.

Speaking to Billboard, Hawkins revealed:

“We're getting started. We're getting our ideas together. Dave has his brain working overtime, like usual, and he's got a lot of great ideas, both musically and conceptually, none that I can speak of at this moment, but it's gonna be great. It's gonna be cool.”

He continued on to claim that he and his band had not made their ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ yet - and that their best is still to come.

“You always want every one of them to be the best one you've ever done, and you always think you haven't done your best one. Although some people may feel we have, I still think we haven't written our 'Hotel California' or our 'Bohemian Rhapsody' or whatever. Every time you start a record, you have to be, like, ready to fuckin' kill yourself or it's not gonna be any good.”

Grohl previously stated that he had ‘really awesome, big plans’ for their next record - hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to find out what they’ve been working on for the past couple of months. Are you excited for a new Foos record? Leave us a comment in the box below!
