Motorhead Forced To Cancel Shows As Lemmy Suffers "Unspecified Hematoma"

Tuesday, 25 June 2013 Written by Jon Stickler

The legendary Motörhead were recently forced to cancel shows in Austria and Italy due to frontman and rock 'n' roll icon Lemmy Kilmister suffering from what has been described as “unspecified hematoma”

Promoters in Milan released the following statement: “With great regret we inform you that, after [Motörhead] cancelled a date in Austria yesterday, Motörhead are also forced to cancel the date of June 25 in Milan, for the same reason. Health problems with Lemmy, caused by a strong hematoma, makes it impossible at present to go on stage.”

The reported hematoma, a localised collection of blood outside of the blood vessels, follows the 67-year-old's recent heart surgery, which saw him fitted with a defibrillator to address an irregular heart beat.

It looks as though Lemmy is having a hard time of it lately. Everyone here at Stereoboard wishes him a speedy recovery and hopes to see him back on the stage very soon.

Motörhead are due to release a new album, titled 'Aftershock', later this year. The trio are also set to embark on their annual UK trek in November.
