Rock legend Dave Grohl has revealed that he’s heading back to the States to begin work on a brand new Foo Fighters album, following his success with supergroup Sound City Players.
Grohl is without a shadow of a doubt one of the busiest men in the game, providing drums for the new Queens of the Stone Age album as well as performing with the Sound City Players in the UK this week - following on from his recently finished Sound City documentary. Now, without a holiday in sight, he’s jetting back to America to meet up with his Foo Fighter bandmates to work on what will be their eighth studio album.
Grohl made the revelation whilst speaking at the BRIT Awards last night, and told fans: “I return to Los Angeles tomorrow to start work on a Foo Fighters record.” He went on to add that it could be a while before it reaches us, saying that it would be released ‘eventually’.
It’s not the first time he’s talked of the plans to make a new Foo album - he’s revealed previously: “We have a plan, we know exactly what's coming next and I have the music for the next record and we're going to start working on it once we finish doing all this stuff. We have really awesome, big plans for the next album and I'm really excited about it.”
