Following their performance in Tasmania last month, Foo Fighters have confirmed the Australian and New Zealand leg of their Take Cover Tour.
The Seattle rock band will begin their first run of shows in Brisbane on November 5, then head to Townsville, Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne and Adelaide between November 7 and 17. The second run includes just three concerts, with the group scheduled to perform in Christchurch, Auckland and Perth in January 2027.
Support on select dates will come from Full Flower Moon Band, Mini Skirt, Downgirl, The Bellair Lip Bombs, Teens, The Buoys, C.O.F.F.I.N, Frenzee, Kurralta Park, Spooky Eyes, Dartz, Seek Help!, Dick Move, Ringlets, The Southern River Band, and Last Quokka. The new shows will follow the UK and European leg of the tour in June and July, which includes several festival appearances. The North American dates take place later in the summer and run into the autumn.
Tickets for the new Australian and New Zealand shows go on general sale at 12pm local time on February 25, except for the Melbourne and Perth concerts, which go on sale at 11am local time. All other dates are on sale now.
The news follows an update to the Foo Fighters website, where the band appears to be teasing a follow-up to 2023's 'But Here We Are' with snippets of new tracks.
Last summer, they released the single Today's Song, their first new music in nearly two years, followed by Asking For A Friend in October. The same month they also put out the live EP 'Are Playing Where ??? Vol. 1' exclusively on Bandcamp, recorded during their surprise US club shows last September. Proceeds from the release support US charities helping to combat food insecurity.
