US superstar Dolly Parton is rumoured to be performing at next year's Glastonbury Festival, having revealed her 2014 UK tour dates and a gap on the date of the Worthy Farm event.
Dolly will return to the UK and Europe in June and July next year to support her latest studio album of all new material 'Blue Smoke'. A release date is still to be confirmed.
She had this to say on her upcoming shows:
“Every time I come to Europe I’m just as excited as I was my very first time, which was many, many years ago. I love that part of the world and I especially love the fans.”
“We always have such a good time and I’ve put together a lot of things for this show that I think the fans will love. We had not planned to come back so soon, but we got so much fan mail and such a great reaction that I thought ‘Well, why not. If they’re having a good time and we always do, let’s just do it’.”
While Dolly is unlikely to appeal to the masses drawn to Glastonbury 2013 headliners Mumford & Sons, the Rolling Stones and Arctic Monkeys, she would suit the now-traditional Sunday afternoon legend slot which her long-time friend and fellow country star Kenny Rogers occupied at this year's festival.
Glastonbury 2014 is confirmed to take place from June 25 to June 29 2014.
