Brian Johnson: AC/DC Definitely Getting Together In May

Wednesday, 16 April 2014 Written by Jon Stickler

AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson has revealed that the band are not retiring yet and are "definitely getting together in May".

In response to a recent flurry of speculation that the legendary hard rock band were due to retire, Johnson told the Telegraph that the band will definitely hit the studio next month. But, anything following the studio sessions remains uncertain.

Johnson said:

"We are definitely getting together in May in Vancouver. We're going to pick up guitars, have a plonk and see if anybody has got any tunes or ideas. If anything happens we'll record it.

"I wouldn't like to say anything either way about the future. I'm not ruling anything out. One of the boys has a debilitating illness, but I don't want to say too much about it. He's very proud and private. A wonderful chap. We've been pals for 25 years and I look up to him very much."

Johnson also revealed that plans are being made for a 40-show tour to mark the Aussie rockers' 40th anniversary, whether or not the band can continue to perform live remains uncertain.

"That would be a wonderful way to say bye-bye. We would love to do it – but it's all up in the air at the moment."
