The New Pornographers Confirm August Release For 'Brill Bruisers'

Tuesday, 10 June 2014 Written by Huw Baines

The New Pornographers will release ‘Brill Bruisers’, their first album in four years, on August 25.

Produced by AC Newman and John Collins, the record will act as the follow up to 2010’s ‘Together’. In a statement, Newman said:

“This is a celebration record. After periods of difficulty, I am at a place where nothing in my life is dragging me down and the music reflects that. We wanted Xanadu and we wanted Sigue Sigue Sputnik, which translated into sparklier and faster.”

Pitchfork is reporting that Neko Case and Dan Bejar contributed to the record, while the New Pornographers will hit the road for a US tour this autumn. You can check out the album’s title track below, as part of an interactive video designed by Chris Shier.
