The Specials Push Back Release Of New Album 'Protest Songs – 1924 -2012' To October

The Specials have slightly delayed the release of their new album.
'Protest Songs – 1924-2012' will now arrive on October 1 via their new label home at Island Records, so it can be released on vinyl at the same time as other formats. The band confirmed the move with a post on social media:
"In order to get everyone their vinyl on release date we’ve had to move the release of ‘Protest Songs 1924-2012’ back a week to October 1st."
Comprising 12 reinterpretations of protest songs by artists such as Talking Heads, Bob Marley, Leonard Cohen, and Frank Zappa, the follow-up to 2019's 'Encore' was recorded in West London back in May with regular bandmates Nikolaj Torp Larsen on keyboards, Kenrick Rowe on drums and Steve Cradock on guitar.
The Specials teased the LP earlier in August with their version of Freedom Highway, a rock 'n'roll song originally penned by the Staple Singers.
They recently kicked off a UK tour in support of the record. Head below to check out the upcoming dates and ticket details.
