ZAND Confirms Autumn UK Shows, Announces 'SEWERSTAR' EP With New Single Deliverance

ZAND has announced their sophomore EP.

The conceptual seven-track 'SEWERSTAR' will arrive on September 7, with the fast-rising alt-pop artist previously teasing the project with the recent singles DTF and Battery Acid, as well as the newly shared Deliverance.

The "ugly pop" tune offers tongue-in-cheek lyrics over an eclectic mix of alt-pop, atmospheric electronic effects, and alt-indie guitars. They said of the track:

"Deliverance sees the narrator caught in a maniacal spiral into depravity, hell-bent on retribution. A satirical chronicle exploring the dynamics and consequences of exploitation, paranoia, stalking and reactive abuse. ‘Fuck around and find out’.

"Sonically, Deliverance is inspired heavily by the theatrically laced emo and nu-metal bands I listened to in my teens, like My Chemical Romance, System Of A Down, The Used etc. The dark cabaret/polka elements were undeniably influenced by bands like The Dresden Dolls, and even film scores like Danny Elfman’s work in The Nightmare Before Christmas had a hand in its birth.

"Instrumentally, I’m harnessing these showy elements and multiple BPM changes to represent the histrionic build up of the story along with the upwards unravelling of its narrator, towards its inevitable climax."

ZAND will appear at this year's Reading and Leeds later in August, followed by their debut headline UK tour in late October. They also have US shows scheduled during September. Tickets are on sale now.
