Keith Jarrett, is an acclaimed jazz and classical pianist, composer and improviser, from Pennsylvania, America.
Having made his start at various jazz hotspots in New York, he began touring in the mid-60s with Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, and then the Charles Lloyd Quartet, before leading his own trio with Charlie Haden and Paul Motian. In the early 70s, with the addition of tenor saxophonist, Dewy Redman, the trio became a quartet, and Jarrett also featured in Miles Davis’ electric fusion group. Jarrett has released a multitude of records since the early 70s, as a solo pianist, in a jazz trio, and as a classical performer, covering jazz standards, live concert recordings, and improvisation, which amount to over 70 recordings.
