Kendrick Lamar is an American hip-hop and rap star hailing from the home of all things gangsta - Compton, California. After finishing his first ever mixtape back in 2003 (at the age of just sixteen), he continued to write and rap wherever he could, and first came to public attention with his 2010 mixtape ‘Overly Dedicated’.

2011 saw Lamar’s first album ‘Section.80’ hit iTunes after being released independently, and he garner a lot of critical acclaim - with some considering it as one of the best digital hip-hop albums of the year. 2012, though, saw his major label debut record ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’ getting a release, and the announcement of one of his first proper UK tours.
