Killswitch Engage Tickets & Tour Dates 2014
Killswitch Engage are an American metalcore outfit hailing from Westfield, Massachusetts. Formed in 1999 from the ashes of Overcast and Aftershock, the band - consisting of vocalist Jesse Leach, guitarists Joel Stroetzel and Adam Dutkiewicz, bassist Mike D’Antonio, and drummer Justin Foley - are considered one of the pioneers of the new wave of American metal, and of the metalcore genre itself.
The band have released six studio albums in their time, selling over 4million albums in the US alone and breaking into both the US and UK Albums charts many a time - they even peaked at #7 in the US with their eponymous 2009 album ‘Killswitch Engage’. 2013 saw the band release their latest album ‘Disarm the Descent’, and a co-headline tour of the UK with Trivium followed. In 2014, they hit Download Festival - catch them warming-up with a gig in Portsmouth!

There are bands to define every generation. Take Black Sabbath, AC/DC or Metallica. Take Iron Maiden, Slipknot and Nirvana. These are bands that helped shape entire cultures, infiltrating the mainstream along the way.
As a legion of Killswitch Engage and Trivium fans mill around outside Brixton Academy, ignoring the cries of touts, it’s hard not to smile at the enormity of the situation. Two of the most important, viscerally exciting metal bands to emerge this side of the millennium. A sold-out, iconic venue. Yes. It’s all very...yes.
This gig should have been a crowning moment for Killswitch Engage. Having returned to action with original vocalist Jesse Leach, it seemed that the band's well-deserved headline slot at Hevy Fest was another step towards grander things. Alas, Hevy was then downgraded to a single day event at Brixton Academy. A bit of a blow, but still, so far, so good. Brixton's a colossal deal for most bands, especially ones within the heavier realms of music. It's not too shabby, let's put it that way.
