Piers Morgan is a journalist, television presenter and author from Guildford.

A notable but polarising figure in UK journalism and TV, he began his media career as a reporter in the mid‑1980s before becoming showbiz columnist for The Sun, going on to be appointed editor of News of the World in 1994, and the Daily Mirror in 1995. His tenure at the Mirror ended in 2004 after the publication of fake images suggesting the torture of Iraqi prisoners; he refused to retract them and was dismissed. Morgan later testified during the 2011 Leveson Inquiry amid broader phone‑hacking investigations tied to his previous workplaces.

He appeared as judge on both America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent until 2011, going on to host his own show, Piers Morgan Live, on CNN from 2011 to 2014, then return to UK screens to co-host ITV's Good Morning Britain from 2015 to 2021. He resigned following an Ofcom-recorded 57,000+ complaints over his on-air comments regarding Meghan Markle’s mental health.

In 2022, he launched the TalkTV show Piers Morgan Uncensored, which later moved to YouTube. His 2022 interview with Cristiano Ronaldo earned Scoop of the Year at the British Sports Journalism Awards and Interview of the Year at the 2023 TRIC Awards. He has authored several books, including the memoir The Insider: The Private Diaries of a Scandalous Decade, as well as several investigative documentaries such as Killer Women and The Dark Side of Fame.
