Sarah Jane Morris is an English singer-songwriter hailing from Southampton. Born in 1959, she would first emerge as the lead singer of The Republic, a politically-charged band that, though finding a lot of attention in press, wouldn’t earn success. However, this didn’t stop Morris continuing to work as a musician, and she would soon find her first taste of proper fame.
As well as working with the likes of The Happy End, The Commands, and Pere Ubu, she has been releasing music as a solo artist since the end of the ‘80s, and has put out eight LPs and a number of EPs, live albums, and compilations since.
