Seasick Steve is without a doubt one of the most recognisable and iconic blues performers around today. Born in Oakland, California back in 1941, he’s known for his unique take on blues, folk, and country, which he creates using personalised guitars and instruments. Steve had been touring and busking as a musician for years, but made his breakthrough at the start of the millennium.
After releasing his debut album ‘Cheap’ in 2004, he began to see an explosion in his popularity - famously claiming that he ‘can’t believe it - all of a sudden I’m the cat’s meow!’. His ensuing albums began to chart much higher in the UK - his 2008, 2009, and 2011 records all peaked in the Top 10. This helped him pick up a fair few awards and earn festival slots across the globe. 2013 will see the release of sixth album ‘Hubcap Music’ - catch him live in the UK in May.
