Wales Rugby Tickets, Fixtures & Matches in 2024/2025Last Updated: 12 Jan 2023 1:39pm
The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) was founded in Neath in 1881. It governs rugby union in the country of Wales, and is recognised by the sport's international governing body, World Rugby. It oversees 320 member clubs, the Welsh national team and National Leagues and Cups.
The Welsh national team represents Wales in men's international rugby union. The team has competed annually in the Six Nations Championship (previously the Home Nations Championship and Five Nations Championship) since it was established in 1883. Wales has also participated in every Rugby World Cup since the competition was established in 1987. The home of Welsh rugby is at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff (currently known for sponsorship reasons as the Principality Stadium), which replaced Cardiff Arms Park as the national stadium of Wales in 1999. They play in red jerseys, embroidered with the WRU logo, which is based on the Prince of Wales's feathers, white shorts and red socks.
