Belgium's TomorrowLand Festival Sells 250,000 Tickets

TomorrowLand is rapidly accelerating itself to the top of the electronic-festival pyramid. In the short space of seven years, the Belgium festival has gone from strength to strength.

By 2008, the crowd has risen to 50,000 strong and by 2012, the festival has sold an impressive 195,000 tickets. However, it is the lighting-bolt speed of their sale and high demand that has left many punters without a ticket.

Just fewer than 80,000 tickets were allocated strictly for Belgium natives only, which were all sold out instantly.

On April 7th at 11am, the final 115,000 tickets were put on general sale to the rest of the world. Again, within minutes, the entire batch of tickets were sold highlighting the popularity of the dance festival that critics are calling one of the best in Europe, if not the best at the moment.

Over 2million ravers attempted to buy tickets from the TomorrowLand website which surpasses the likes of Reading festival in their heyday in the middle of the naughties.

With many festivals struggling and on the brink of bankruptcy, it is amazing to see a new festival reaping the rewards with superlative organisation with excellent marketing and PR.

The YouTube video from last year’s festival was surely a huge factor for its success with over 35million hits already. If you haven’t seen it, it’s worth a watch, but sadly, tickets have already gone and the only way to Boom town in Belgium is via auction websites that are reportedly going for double the money.

But if you wish to see what all the fuss is about, watch this!
