Birmingham NEC's The Ticket Factory Makes Key Appointments As Part of Growth Strategy

Monday, 28 October 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

The Ticket Factory - one of the UK’s most successful venue box offices, for the NEC, LG Arena and the NIA in Birmingham - has made three new appointments to its team.

The company is working on a new growth strategy that will see them attempting to sell more tickets than ever before. Among the trio of new faces are Rob Williams, who previously worked at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham and is a wizard with online ticketing and e-commerce. The Ticket Factory will be hoping he can work his magic for them as operations director.

Also joining is Kelly Whitehead, who's earned a role as the new client services director. She’s had more than enough experience in the industry, having worked with the likes of AEG Live, LastMinute.com, and Mean Fiddler in the past.

The final addition is Gail Webb as consumer sales and marketing director. She’s already worked a similar role as the head of digital for the NEC Group, which owns and operates the NEC, the LG Arena and the NIA, and will be helping develop their online marketing.

The Ticket Factory’s MD Stuart Cain said:

“The ticket agency world is too insular and key players have to stop obsessing about each other and look at the wider world. People want to buy tickets the same way they buy clothes through ASOS or books through Amazon. These changes are designed to bring top end e-commerce thinking into The Ticket Factory and a freshness to what we do.

“The more we engage with ticket buyers, the more tickets we will sell and the easier it will become to secure inventory. Opening the London office is also important as it puts us closer to the live industry. Everybody wins with these changes.”
