Motorhead Planning Covers Album?

Legendary Lemmy Kilmister and his band Motorhead have hinted that a new covers album could be on the horizon.

The news was revealed by Lemmy backstage at the recent Wacken Festival in Germany, however, the album could already be in jeopardy following the in-band disagreements about what songs should be covered.

Drummer Mikkey Dee has apparently suggested songs that Lemmy doesn’t feel he could sing. Lemmy commented, “We’re not sure but we are thinking about doing an album of covers. The problem is Mikkey likes bands like Journey and that and I can’t sing like that. So we’ll have to get him to compromise on that.”

When asked about more modern songs that could undergo the Motorhead treatment, Lemmy added. “There are a lot of songs I like but I wouldn’t cover them as they are by girls. Skunk Anansie and Evanescence write some great songs, really good quality songs. I could try it but it’d be a slightly lower key.”

Skunk Anansie and Evanescence? Hmmmmm...
