"I’ve Written For The Original Line-Up Of The Sugababes," Emeli Sandé Confirms

Scottish singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé has confirmed to MTV.co.uk that she has written a song for the original line-up of the Sugababes, after weeks of speculation and rumours.

The BRITs Critic Choice Award winner has confirmed the story we ran earlier this month, despite original member Mutya Buena denying that the group were working together once again. A new single would be the first time the original trio of Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhán Donaghy have worked together since 2001.

Sandé told MTV: “I’ve written for the original line-up of the Sugababes, which I’m very happy about because I just loved them when they first came out. I loved their sound, it was so cool. It was very different, so I’m happy to kind of be involved in what started the whole Sugababes journey. It sounds amazing.”

Buena had previously said that although she would continue to make music, it would be as a solo artist and not as a member of the Sugababes. But, a spokesperson of Keisha Buchanan told press that: “Keisha has been working on a number of exciting projects both old and new. She is in the final stages of completing her much-awaited solo album and believes her fans will be equally excited with what's to come.”
