McFly’s highly-anticipated sping-time comeback tour has been put into jeopardy this week – after guitarist Tom Fletcher dislocated his shoulder training with the Saracens rugby team.
The pop-rockers were out on promotional duties when they met up with the St. Albans based rugby team, and were having great fun playing ball with the lads – until Fletcher had a rather nasty clash with 16 stone back-row Jackson Wray. As you can imagine, it didn’t end well – though everyone found it hilarious. Hilarious until Fletcher failed to get off the ground again.
Unfortunately for the boys, though, it’s unknown whether Fletcher will be well enough to perform on the boys up and coming UK tour, as he’s currently unable to play his guitar because of the injury. Despite of his woes, though, Fletcher was in good spirits when speaking to the Daily Mirror about the incident.
“A guy from the rugby team knocked my shoulder a bit and it is partially dislocated,” he told the tabloid paper. “To be honest, he hardly touched me – which goes to show how massive and strong he is, or how embarrassingly puny I am. Probably a combination of the two. I’ll be fine... I just can’t move properly at the moment!”
He then continued on via Twitter, writing: “One of the rugby guys absolutely fucked my shoulder yesterday. It even hurts when I tweet! Got some exercises to do over the next 48hrs although I’d say taking my T-shirt off was enough exercise,” before posting this morning: “Haha, just read the stuff in the press about my shoulder. How puny are my legs compared to his in that pic! Shoulder feels much better today. Back to rehearsals today.”
The tour will most likely still be going ahead, but if anything changes, Stereoboard will be the first to let you know. For tickets to the tour, check the dates and details below.
