McFly have announced new shows in London and Cardiff for later this month.
The BRIT-winning pop-rock band will dive into their music and share stories during a 90-minute live TV/podcast recording for Song Cake on March 18 at Here East media complex at Olympic Park in East London. The intimate, behind-the-scenes show will feature breakdowns of some of the group's favourite tracks, with isolated drums, guitars, vocals, strings, keys and bass heard raw and unfiltered, alongside a chat and fan Q&A.
They'll also play a benefit concert at Cardiff's DEPOT on March 22, hosted by Busted's Matt Willis, to raise funds for his charity project, The Matt Willis Recovery Project, and Developing A Caring Wales. Support will come from The Joy Formidable and Half Happy. Announcing the show on social media, Willis said:
"I am so excited to announce that on Sunday 22nd March i’ll be back in Cardiff to host a show that I’ve put together for a charity project really close to my heart.
"I’ve been working on this for a long time and it’s a really ambitious project, so I’ve been doing a lot of fundraising to make it happen. I’m creating a project in South Wales that offers employment and training to people in recovery from addiction a second chance. It’s a really personal project for me and all proceeds from this show are going straight into the project. I’m thrilled to say that McFLY are going to be playing a FULL set, supported by some incredible Welsh bands."
The new dates will precede McFly's previously scheduled summer shows, including performances at Pub In The Park Marlow, St. Mary's Stadium in Southampton, Live At Lincoln Castle, Forest Live concerts at Thetford Forest, Delamere Forest and Cannock Chase Forest, two nights at Live At The Piece Hall in Halifax, and a return to South Wales for a performance at Cardiff Castle for Depot Live. Twin Atlantic and Remember Monday will support on all of those dates except Marlow and Southampton, with Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Scouting For Girls joining for the latter date.
They'll also headline Live At Rochester Castle on July 5 and Borde Hill Summer Series in Haywards Heath, West Sussex on August 14, where support will come from The Feeling and Remember Monday.
McFly released their most recent studio album, 'Power To Play', in 2023. More recently, they put out '21 Live' last spring, recorded during their 21st anniversary celebrations at the O2 Arena in London.
Tickets for the London Song Cake event have sold-out, while their Cardiff fundraiser show goes on general sale at 9am on Friday (March 6). All other dates are on sale now.
