Simple Minds Add Second Glasgow OVO Hydro Show To 2027 V Tour Due To Demand

Due to demand, Simple Minds have added a second hometown show to the UK leg of their V Tour next year.

Led by co-founders Jim Kerr (frontman) and Charlie Burchill (guitarist), the Glasgow rock band will double up the OVO Hydro on May 15, the day after their previously scheduled show at the venue.

The UK and Ireland leg of what's being billed as their biggest tour to date also includes shows at London's O2 Arena, Manchester's Co-op Live, Birmingham's Utilita Arena, Nottingham's Motorpoint Arena, Leeds' First Direct Arena, Newcastle's Utilita Arena and Dublin's 3Arena between May 6 and 17.

The tour will kick off with shows across Australia and New Zealand in February and March, followed by a run of dates around mainland Europe. Special guest Gary Numan will support on the Australian, New Zealand, UK and Ireland dates, while Level 42 will feature on the European leg. Tickets for all dates are on sale now.

Simple Minds announced the tour last week alongside details of their new album, 'Sacrosanct', due out through BMG on January 29, and the release of its first single, Beginner Boys.

Simple Minds will also headline Sunday's line-up at BBC Radio 2 in the Park in Stirling, Scotland this Sunday (September 13), followed by an appearance at Darker Waves Festival in California on November 14.
