Shygirl has laid out plans for a new album.

The South London artist will release 'Swallow!' via Because Music on November 6, following her Mercury Prize-nominated debut, 2022's 'Nymph', the extensive deluxe version 'Nymph_o' in 2023, and several EPs. It started to come together during an important time in her life, after the release of 'Nymph' and as she fell in love. Revealing the cover art with a post on Instagram, she explained:

"This album unravelled at a time in my life where I felt truly loved and content. I felt grateful for all the ways it took to get to that place and I can’t wait to share the music that continues to bring me back to that feeling time and time again. It’s raw and spiky and lush and lovely. It’s my reminder to myself that it’s fine to be contrary and that bliss in oblivion is sometimes the most harmonious of states. If there’s anything I stand for it’s the pursuit of love; to love and be loved and all the emotions in between. I’m so grateful for everyone who has supported me and made it possible for this record to exist. Especially @karmakiduk ! We started with Lucky so it’s only right to announce with this song, my hymn."

To mark the announcement, the British rising star has shared a new single, Lucky[Hymn], which marks a departure from her clubby, dance-pop sound, with strummed acoustic guitar over a punchy beat and dreamy electronic elements.

Head below to view the song's dramatic video, co-directed by Shygirl and Austen Taylor Pease, which plays out as a short film featuring Shygirl as herself and in character as "Alyse", who was introduced in the video accompanying her August single of the same name, and another character "Kay". The album's tracklist has yet to be revealed.

She'll play a handful of European shows over the next couple of months, including an appearance at Iceland Airwaves Festival in Reykjavik in November.

In the time since 'Nymph', Shygirl has featured on Charli XCX and Troye Sivan's Sweat Tour, and appeared on the former's 'Brat' remix album.
