Pink Floyd State They Are NOT Performing With Ed Sheeran At Olympics Closing Ceremony

Contrary to quotes flying around the net from Ed Sheeran, iconic rockers Pink Floyd will not be performing at the London 2012 Olympics ceremony.
Two of the bands members - drummer Nick Mason and either Roger Waters and David Gilmour - were allegedly set to perform a duet with flame-haired guitarist Ed Sheeran, but a statement from Pink Floyd’s spokespeople has confirmed otherwise - ending some fans’ short-lived dreams.
In a short, but straight-to-the-point statement sent out today, the band said: “In response to press speculation, Pink Floyd state that the band is NOT performing at the Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.”
Now, this statement leaves a bit of a mystery - why did Ed Sheeran allegedly tell Nova radio station that he was performing with Pink Floyd? Are the quotes false, or was Sheeran a wee bit confused?
