Green Day Confirm Reading Festival Performance And 2013 London Emirates Stadium Show

Green Day have confirmed the heavily-speculated "secret" performance at this weekend's Reading Festival. The special show will see the pop-punk rockers perform their 1994 album 'Dookie' in it's entirety on the Radio 1/NME Stage on either Friday 24th August or Saturday 25th August - the exact day and time has not yet been confirmed.
Green Day confirmed the news while guesting on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show yesterday evening. Singer and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong was asked what his favourite Green Day album was and knowingly answered with: "I think if there were any rumours that we were playing Reading, playing ‘Dookie’ from front to back would be pretty cool. That would be a novel idea."
During the Zane Lowe show, in which tracks from the upcoming trio of albums 'iUno!', 'iDos!' and 'iTre!' were premièred, Green Day also revealed that a UK Tour is planned for next year and a concert is already confirmed for London's Emirates Stadium on 1st June 2013.
Billie Joe recently gave fans a massive hint of the Reading performance via Webstagram, posting a picture of himself on stage accompanied by the caption: "Hello England! What rhymes with shredding ??!!" Check out Billie Joe's cryptic message here.
In addition, Stereoboard reported the online emergence of a 2012 Green Day tour tshirt that backed-up those rumours that the band will indeed perform in Reading and London as part of their 2012 world tour. Following the emergence of the tshirt, Green Day confirmed an intimate show at London's Shepherds Bush Empire earlier this week. The show takes place tonight, Thursday 23rd August.
