Miguel Facing Potential 'Brain Damage Lawsuit From Fan

Wednesday, 05 June 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

One of the women that Miguel inadvertently kicked in the face (with pretty good technique, may we add) is reportedly considering taking legal action against the singer - as she may have suffered brain damage.

The girl in question - Khyati Shah - is reportedly experiencing some ‘cognitive difficulties’, and according to her lawyer Vip Bhola, they’re awaiting test results from a neurologist - to decide whether to take Miguel and Billboard to court.

Bhola told TMZ:

“Some of the difficulties she's experiencing are cognitive in nature and lead to suspicion of a neurological head injury.”

The lawyer also claimed that her client should have been rushed to hospital, rather than given an ice pack - an act described as a ‘pathetic gesture’. The website has also reported that Miguel was actually ordered not to jump the stage at the award ceremony as officials considered it too dangerous - meaning Miguel could find himself in a lot of trouble should a lawsuit hit the courts.

Miguel has actually just commented on the recent incident, but doesn’t seem too phased right now - simply stating that it ‘didn’t go as planned’. He told LoveDough’s Carly Wilford:

“When you put your art out there, you are not only putting your art out there, you are putting your life out there. What I love about it, is the ability to show that you're human and for people to relate to the fact that we are not perfect. It didn't go exactly as I planned, I'm a very passionate performer. That time it just didn't work out for me but at the end of the day at least you know when you come to see me, I am going to put on a show and I am going to give it everything I love, everything I know and everything I feel. That's what living in the moment is all about.”

If any of you missed the incident, you can check out our coverage of it here - what do you think of the news? Do you reckon the victim may be out for a bit of cash, or do you reckon she deserves some compensation? In fairness, she did take a brutal kick to the head! Leave us a comment in the box below.
