Nine Inch Nails To Premiere New Track 'Came Back Haunted' Tomorrow

Wednesday, 05 June 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Trent Reznor and his new-look Nine Inch Nails have been promising their fans a load of new music and live gigs this year, and tomorrow, the first single from their forthcoming new album will be unveiled.

The band have returned with their latest line-up this year. featuring Adrian Belew of King Crimson, Josh Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv, returning members Alessandro Cortini and Ilan Rubin, and former guitarist Robert Finck - who joins as a touring member following the swift departure of Eric Avery, who only joined the band at the start of the year.

Now, the band are finally ready to give fans the first taste of what they’ve been working on, with American radio station KROQ slated to play new single ‘Came Back Haunted’ tomorrow (Thursday June 6th) - a track taken from what will be their eighth studio album, which is set for a release later in 2013.

Lisa Worden, KROQ’s musical director, has commented on the record, and said (via NME):

“I think it's in line with the first two albums. Its got a great beat, it's not the experimental material Trent's done in the last five years. I wouldn't say that it's dance-y, but it does have a great beat, a groove. Trent really brought it with this song. It’s going to sound amazing to new fans and old. It's just cool.”

Worden’s not the only fan of the band’s new album - Reznor himself seems to be pretty pleased with it, and recently described it as ‘fucking great’ - he said in a statement:

“I’ve been less than honest about what I’ve really been up to lately. For the last year I’ve been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly fucking great. This is the real impetus and motivation behind the decision to assemble a new band and tour again. My forays into film, HTDA and other projects really stimulated me creatively and I decided to focus that energy on taking Nine Inch Nails to a new place. Here we go!”

Though they’re expected to announce some tour dates later this year, the band have already lined-up appearances at Reading and Leeds Festivals, as well as Belsonic in August. Click either of these links - Reading Festival/Leeds Festival - to find tickets, or check below for Belsonic tickets
