Nine Inch Nails and Boys Noize will release a joint album next week.
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (pictured) will put out 'Nince Inch Noize' with the German electronic music producer, songwriter and DJ Alex Ridha on April 17. It features reworkings of old and new NIN tracks, including Closer and As Alive As You Need Me to Be. Both acts shared the news on their social media, posting just the cover and release date.
The announcement arrives ahead of their joint set under the Nine Inch Noize moniker at this weekend's Coachella in the Sahara tent.
NIN and Boys Noize recently worked together when the latter co-produced the entirety of the TRON Ares soundtrack in 2025 and also did a number of remixes on 'TRON Ares: Divergence', which came out in February and features a number of reworks of songs from the soundtrack, as well as the original tracklist. He also released his own mix of Reznor and Ross' score for the 2024 film Challengers, so its fair to say they're well acquainted.
Nine Inch Nails released their latest studio albums, 'Ghosts V: Together' and 'Ghosts VI: Locusts', back in 2020. They recently concluded the second North American leg of their Peel It Back Tour, on which they were joined by Boys Noize. In a statement about the new collaboration, Reznor said:
"The creative fulfillment of working on the Challengers and TRON scores with Boys Noize led me to think that including him in the Peel It Back tour could be an interesting way to express NIN in more purely electronic terms live – a concept I’ve wanted to explore for some time. The result was so much fun for us we felt it was worth expanding and formalizing in some way.
"On a whim I mentioned it would be cool to play a whole set as Nine Inch Noize in the Sahara tent at Coachella. Careful what you wish for…the next thing I knew we were designing a whole new show to present in the way it deserved.
"There’s no surprise tour announcement – this Saturday is it. I’m taking Sunday off and excited to be working on new Nine Inch Nails music Monday – I’ll see you when I come up for air.
"We recorded this album all over the place – some of it’s live, some in studios, hotels, planes, etc. We had a lot of fun revisiting these songs and hope you enjoy. Listen LOUD."
