MGMT Admit They Might Not Want To Listen To New Album

MGMT have confessed that they’re ‘not sure’ they would listen to the material on their upcoming eponymous album, having made a rather strange change in style over the past couple of years.
Fronted by Benjamin Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden, the band will release their latest collection of tunes on September 16.
Alternative Press’s review of the album claimed that it was "beyond weird, but in the best, most deliciously mind-bending of ways", and according to VanWyngarden, it seems to be a fair review. He told Rolling Stone:
“I don’t even know if it’s music we would want to listen to. It’s just what’s coming out of us. We didn’t make a single compromise. Weird things would happen to me up there [at producer Dave Fridmann’s Tarbox Road Studios]. I had total mental breakdowns sometimes.”
