Las Vegas rockers the Killers have hinted that they’ll be putting on a special 10th anniversary gig, having revealed that there’s some ‘big news’ coming soon.
Brandon Flowers and co. have just a handful of North American live dates left this year, having toured heavily in support of their fourth UK #1 album ‘Battle Born’. Now they seem to be looking to the next chapter in their career, celebrating 10 years since their first ever gig in London.
Teasing fans with plans via Facebook late last month, the band posted the message of ‘big news coming soon’ and have since updated their profile, saying:
“September 16th, the 10-year anniversary of our first show in London… #ShotAtTheNight”
Although we’ll probably have to play the waiting game (incidentally our least favourite game ever) to find out what they’ve got up their sleeve, fans have been doing some guesswork and it seems either a massive anniversary gig or a Greatest Hits album could be on the way.
What we do know, is that the band have already started work on material that could feature on what would be their fifth studio album. Perhaps that means a gig is more likely than a Hits album, as the band are already in the studio. Drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. told the Daily Star previously:
“I hope there's a new album soon. We've been working on stuff. We were in the studio just the week before last. I want to put out a new record now but it's about getting us all on the same page. I bring a guitar with me everywhere. Playing the same songs over and over again is like having the same dinner every night. So you want to start getting in the kitchen and experimenting a bit.”
