Synthpop starlet Sky Ferreira has temporarily pulled out of her support role on Vampire Weekend’s US tour.
The 21-year-old has has been suffering with an illness that has affected her vocal chords and is taking a break for what she describes as ‘total vocal rest’. She hasn’t disclosed an exact return date, but she’ll be missing ‘this week’s shows’ at least.
Ferreira broke the news via Facebook, telling fans:
“Due [to] an illness affecting my vocal chords, my doctor has prescribed several days of total vocal rest. Sadly, the timing will force me to miss this week's shows with Vampire Weekend. I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused for the band and fans. I'm doing my best to re-join the tour as soon I'm 100%.”
