Green Day Touring Guitarist Jason White Diagnosed With Tonsil Cancer

Monday, 08 December 2014 Written by Huw Baines

Jason White, touring guitarist with Green Day, has been diagnosed with tonsil cancer.

He is expected to make a full recovery, according to a statement posted to the band’s website:

“We have some news to report regarding our brother Jason White, and wanted you to hear it from us before word spread. Jason recently underwent a routine tonsillectomy, and his doctors discovered a treatable form of tonsil cancer. Thankfully they caught it early and he should make a full and speedy recovery. Please join us in sending him love and positive healing vibes during this time.”

White has been playing with Green Day since the late ‘90s, following the release of ‘Warning’, and also worked with Billie Joe Armstrong in Pinhead Gunpowder.
