Gorillaz are back.
The project has been dormant since 2011, when ‘The Fall’ was released, but co-creators Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett have now resurrected their animated alter-egos for a new song, Hallelujah Money.
The track is a collaboration with Benjamin Clementine and arrives before a new LP, which is expected later this year. You can check its politically charged video out below following its premiere on Uproxx.
A short statement accompanying the video reads: "Gorillaz returns after six years with the apocalyptic "Hallelujah Money" video, the first taste of their new record which is coming later this year. The band has issued this song on the eve of the Inauguration of President-Elect Donald Trump to serve as commentary on a politically-charged, historical moment. #wearestillhumanz"
