Gorillaz Tease 'The Mountain' With New Tracks Orange County And The Hardest Thing

Gorillaz have shared two more tracks from their upcoming ninth album.
Orange County and The Hardest Thing offer a further glimpse into 'The Mountain', due out on February 27 via the band's own label KONG.
The former is a mellow offering that showcases Gorillaz's signature melodic, uplifting energy alongside contributions from Bizarrap, Kara Jackson, and Anoushka Shanksar, while the latter is a more pared-back companion track of sorts, exploring grief and hope with the late drummer Tony Allen. Both songs are available as a limited-edition double a-side 7” vinyl, and you can stream them below as a continuous piece.
Gorillaz began teasing the follow-up to 2023's 'Cracker Island' last September with the Sparks collaboration The Happy Dictator. That was followed by The Manifesto featuring Trueno and the late D12 member Proof, The God Of Lying with Idles, and, most recently, Damascus featuring Syrian singer Omar Souleyman and rapper Yasiin Bey, formerly known as Mos Def.
The album also includes four tracks with Johnny Marr, contributions from Super Furry Animals' Gruff Rhys, and other posthumous appearances by Bobby Womack, Dennis Hopper and Mark E. Smith.
Gorillaz will follow the record's release with the previously scheduled UK and Ireland leg of The Mountain Tour in the spring, with Trueno supporting on all dates except Manchester and Birmingham. They'll also play a huge show at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on June 20, joined by Sparks and Trueno, as part of a run of summer European dates.
Ahead of the tour, Gorillaz will perform two intimate warm-up shows in Bradford on March 13 and 14. Tickets for all dates are on sale now.
House Of Kong, an exhibition celebrating the 25th anniversary of Gorillaz, will make its way to Los Angeles next month, after debuting in London last summer.
To coincide with the exhibition, the band perform two special shows at the Hollywood Palladium in LA on February 22 and 23, where they'll play 'The Mountain' in full alongside a number of surprise guests. Head here for further details.
